Happy Birthday ;)

A very "special" Cambodian Happy Birthday to You darling sister ;)

Hey baby girl! It's your birthday today...(in normal time anyway)!! :D This is exciting because
1) You're a year older!!
2) Hopefully Rich will spoil you with all types of lovely things :)
3) The baby could be born today!
4) Everyone has fun on their birthdays!
5) You could have a wild old time and have a party....and maybe even eat some cake!
and last but not least
6) You get presents ;) and this is my present to you this year.

How do I begin?
Well. Once upon a time?...Yes.
Once upon a time, there were 5 sisters who loved each other dearly. When they were young they would stay at home and dance, laugh, play games, sing till their hearts content, and make faces at the strange dinners their sweet Mumma would prepare for them.
They would hold each other when one was sad, they would give kisses when one was hurt, they would lie together and cry when a heart was broken. Wise and kinds words were exchanged to help each other on lifes journey.
As all of their journeys continued, each went off to have their own adventures. Some got married, and began to start a family of their own, the youngest went to France for a time, all by herself to gain a knowledge of all things wonderful, one went to New York to follow her dreams and have the most exciting experiences one could think of....
the other went to Cambodia in hopes of having a good time, all was well, until some locals trapped her in her path and forced her into something that she would forever look back at in shame.
She came home to show her family what they had done to her...
they were in complete shock, but all they could do to help to horrible situation was laugh.

and so, for your birthday dear Nomi, I'm giving you the laughter and photos, ....and a new poster for your wall ;)

Please note that this birthday gift to you involves posting my lifes most utter embarrassment on the internet...and if I'm single for the rest of my life, i hold you accountable hahah...and YES my eyebrows are drawn on, and YES I have brown eyeshadow on my nose.

Smile Though Your Heart is Aching.

5 sisters. All in the one place!

My dear darling sisters. I havent posted a blog in a very long time...why might you ask would we deprive each other of such exciting blogging!?
Well! Our long awaited dream came true! In the wee hours of a March morning, our sisterhood was reunited and our beautiful Nomi came home! Words cannot express the joy we all felt as we held each other again for the first time in over 2 years. An empty hole in our hearts was full again :)
but ALAS my Nomi, you were only here for 2 weeks! I think we all felt the need to savour every moment with you we could...so then came the 2 weeks of taking days off uni, taking days off work, taking days off friends and procrastinating like there was no tomorrow!

Within this 2 weeks we managed to:

  • go to the cuckoo twice...and managed to get someone from the family in the floor show both times! (to mums and my embarrassment :/ ) ...this was also the beginning of our continuous feast!
  • have family dinners, with the most exciting of foods: Nomi's favorite chicken lasagna, roast dinners, cakes...cakes and more cakes (thankyou Stephy)
  • have Easter Bunny came to us a week early! and out-did himself again. hello chocolate babies!

  • watch endless amounts of movies
  • spend hours upon hours sitting with our hands on Stephy's tummy, waiting for that little boy to move! ...and hours upon hours trying to think of ways we could get him to want to come out sooner!!

  • cook on the sunny beach!
  • set up our little baby boys bedroom :)
  • have your long awaited fish and chips at the beach!
  • and have the best 2 weeks of our lives!!!
a midnight bakeathon?

Ok so maybe I was exaggerating a bit, because within all of that i forgot to mention the stress being felt over this horrible Visa, and the hopelessness we all felt of not being able to do anything to "help a sister out!!!"... but apart from that it was the best 2 weeks of our lives...and it lead to the best next almost 3 weeks of our lives!
you might ask...well how!??
I'll explain! :)
So the Visa was proving to be more problematic than expected...and Nomi got to stay!!
and so the procrastinating continued and continued...because there was no way we were wasting time with a sister home!!
We went on picnics, we went to the beach, we went to the movies, we ate and ate and ate, we had road trips, we whipped up storms in the kitchen, we laughed like we used to laugh, we cried... and then we danced like we used to dance, we took many photos and how i wish we took more! we touched more of stephys belly and watched our baby boy grow, we washed cars, we had a babyshower, we had family events, we filled a whole pew at church!, we watched little women :), we nights upon nights at home enjoying every moment together.
hello little nephew! BAHA
oh my...i love your sexy face. ;)

until that anticipated, yet dreaded...(for us) day...when that Visa FINALLY came!! and we knew it was time to send you home to your Richard....and work, who was missing you terribly, but kind enough to share you with us for some time :)
As we knelt for family prayer that night, knowing you would be leaving us again, to live the life of a dreamer :) ...i realised how much i truly miss you when your gone (just like the avril lavinge song hahah) ....but in all seriousness, i did; and i also realised that having you home for those extra weeks was a blessing in disguise and you were meant to be here with us for those weeks! because within them, we created memories that will never be forgotten!

....we so excited!

So as I held you, and we cried and cried, knowing that we would have to let go, knowing that once again we would be oceans apart, knowing that my heart was aching...i had to smile. :)
I smile, because I'm proud of you, because you are one of the most beautiful sisters in the world....and youre mine! I smile because I know that nothing can break a sisterhood, and that you are a blessing in all of our lives, that will last for eternity! I smile...because I know Richard is looking after you and because I know he loves you dearly. I smile because we were all so blessed to have those weeks of excitement together, and we can always smile when we think back to those memories! I smile because I know that whatever may separate us, however much our hearts may be aching, we are always together, in each others hearts :)
So if your heart is aching, smile :) or skype us!!... Cos we love to see you ;) or you could just look at this photo below ;)

the way that you flip your hair makes me overwhelmed. BAHA
I love you!

the moon is blue
My heart is a nest
and there's room
for you too."

So here it comes...The "Tidal Wave of Travels."

I can't believe I haven't spoken to you or blogged to you in such a long time! Did you get my card?
I miss you nomi-bear, i truly do.

You will be proud to know I have finally washed my hair with real shampoo and conditioner...I've scrubed my feet until all of the Sapa dirt disappeared and I've de-cavemanised again and my eyebrows are back! Home is a very clean place and i feel like i fit in again!
See how theres two eyebrows and not one!!??? A MIRACLE
On the 26th of January, I set out on my first big trip without the comfort of my sisters or my dear parents. Dylan, Josh and I travelled through Cambodia, Vietnam and some of Malaysia.
Seeing as youre not here to gossip about it with me and look over all of the photos that were endlessly taken....Blog Post it will have to be.
I'm going to use my diary which i wrote in every day to try and help me give you and overview!
So my trip began with mixed emotions... as the cute little Beagle sniffer dog decided I had something in my handbag at the Melbourne airport. So the security pulled me over and we went through the contents of my handbag...and discovered I just had smelly American Dollars! PHEW.
We then met a man in the long line for boarding the plane, who insisted on telling us what scary and dangerous countries we were travelling too, and that "theres a war going on, don't you know!?"...and that "there are soldiers firing guns everywhere!". Excuse my rude comments when i now say ...what a douche bag.
We arrived in Kuala Lumpur after the 8 hour flight, and I'm almost embarrassed to say...I was so worried about being poisoned, i didnt use the cutlery.. i blessed my Indian dinner in public and took food poisoning tablets...just to be extra safe!
I also experienced my first (and only; thank goodness!) Asian Monsoonal downpour!
This is the stunning result that I prepared earlier for you:
I'm obviously the 'pretty' sister haha

Siem Reap
We arrived in Siem Reap (Cambodia...yes the one where Angelina Jolie adopts babies from) early the next morning...and were greeted by beautiful sunshine and our happy Tuk Tuk driver Linn!
I was super excited as we piled into the tuk tuk and drove into the unorganised...but not too busy streets of Siem Reap to our "Sam So Guest House". (it was so yellow inside Dylan said he felt like he was inside a lemon! haha)
My little friends from the SamSo Guesthouse :)
It is here where I first really noticed how amazing the Cambodian people are. They are so beautiful, friendly, funny and helpful...you couldn't help but fall in love with most of them!
The owner had our days in Siem Reap planned out within the first half hour of being there.
(I'm going to dot point the rest! :) )

- Sunset at Angkor Wat (a overwhelmingly HUGE temple)...was splendid! We explored the temple with not many other people as they all decided to go home or something?
- We also went to Sunrise at Angkor Wat, where we discovered the polar opposite..i have NEVER seen so many people in one spot all taking photos of one thing. It was exhausting! I enjoyed myself laughing with the locals telling me to buy things from their stalls though! "Remember my stall lady! Number 4 Lady Gaga!" "Remember my stall lady!...Number 5 Harry Potter!"...or "Number 7 James Bond" HAHA

- We spent the next three days looking at this city condensed with ancient temples! (we did 14 in one day!) It was a feast for my little eyes, and i sometimes felt dizzy from trying to look at too much at once!
- I got to ride my dear elephant Sophia!! My life was basically made the best ever after that...she was so beautiful :)

THSSOOOO EXCITING!!!
- We explored the main markets and streets of Siem Reap, which have such an amazing relaxed and fun atmoshphere...even with women yelling "Laaaady...laaady...you buy something from meee". I loved everything about it :)
- The back streets of Siem Reap showed the true beauty of Cambodia and the humbleness of the people. Families in their little huts by the river cooking dinner together made me smile at the love they obviously have for life and for each other

- we met some locals at a waterfall and were invited to have lunch with them
- I shouldnt post this on a public forum...but I was so busting at one of the temples i had to bush pee behind a wall at a Hindu-Buddhist Temple. How respectful and ladylike of me. The boys found it absolutely hilarious when there were toilets 200 metres down the road! :/ I'm disgusting.
- I experienced heat like never before and felt so ill I didn't want to eat a thing...i also had the flu
- We went to a school for orphaned children and got to donate some money :)

- One exciting night we caught up with some of the guys from Brisbane (who we never see in Australia) who happened to also be in Siem Reap! We went out for dinner, I got asked 'personal questions', we let fish eat the dead skin from our feet, we explored the night life of Siem Reap and i found myself in a room with 5 men getting a full body massage? Let's just say I freaked when the lady tried to open the curtains so "we could all have our massages together". how sweet of her. haha.

Don't we all look so relaxed. :/

Next up is Phnom Penh!
I'm trying to condense as best as i can! (I'll post all the photos on facebook later if you want to see)

Your Jordy update!....starring Jordy :)

Please come home...That is all I really wanted to say. I've gone from having four big sisters to being an only child and it's oh so lonely that I don't know what to do with myself. I just sit here and be extremely bored. I didn't want to post a blog because I feel as if I have nothing exciting to say what with you busy in New York, Jess having so many wonderful adventures and Steph expecting a baby....So well here's some of the only excitement in my life...

Well I finally fulfilled my life long dream of buying red jeans, they were a super bargin from dotti and fit me perfectly, it's safe to say when I wear them everybody is super jealous of them and my super sexy legs haha.
This boy is the love of my life Naomi... and he has no idea! He works in Robinson's book shop in Frankston and I want to Marry him. He is so beautiful I think the intrigue is that he works in a bookshop. Yes I go into the bookshop and sit on the couches and pretend to read just so I can stare at him, I call him bookshop boy, and this is a picture of him I stole of the bookshop website! he's so dreamy haha
School, That's right I'm in year 12 and it's not as thrilling as everybody said it would be. I wouldn't say this is excitement in my life but it's something to talk about. I've already endured 3 weeks and as you can see taken some lovely after school outings to the beach and retaurants because it's all just so stressful! haha ;) I love all the subjects I'm doing and when I look at my timetable I am soo happy because I have no maths or sciences! I have the best English and Literature teacher in the world. Mr. bachelor, he is actually a genius!...Friends at school are okay...not the greatest I'd rather be home schooled and become a hermit.
Guess what! the mocktail I'm drinking in this picture was free, compliments from the chef! I think it must have been my hair flip that did it! I learn my scamming ways from you haha

This is me every single day just waiting for your skype call that never ever comes!!! *sigh* ......... and I can't believe you know Lana Del Rey I am seriously like her number one fan and knew her before her CD even came out, please can you get her to sign something for me she is so amazing!! I'm doing her a favour over here in Australia and getting all my friends onto her!

I watched Ps. I love you on the weekend because I was home alone, and my goodness it is seriously the best movie ever, so if you haven't seen it for a while go hire it! this is my favouite scene when they've just met and he falls in love with her straight away in all her colourful clothes and they make 'the most perfect kiss ever created by two strangers' and 'life ends as he knows it' oh how romantic!!!
Me in my work uniform and my enthusiastic work face, another exciting thing in my life ,work! I actually like work I have so much fun with my friend Bonnie! I am saving every penny so I can come to new york at the end of the year and see you. I have $2500 saved so I will be coming whether you like it or not.

So that's about it, jeans, school, movies and work! there are some parties coming up which should also put some spice in my life but for now that's it. If you have any questions on my super interesting life go ahead and ask me! :)

xoxo little J
